Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Greenomes ("Greenomes," "we," "us") and the related website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Greenomes is and is not
Greenomes provides long-read whole-genome sequencing (through reputable laboratory partners), secure storage of your raw source files, and tools to revisit and reanalyze them over time. Greenomes is an informational and educational service. It is not medical advice, not a diagnostic test, and not a substitute for professional medical or genetic-counseling care. Always consult a qualified professional for medical decisions. We do not diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
3. Early access
The Service is in early access and is evolving. Features such as the genome vault, sample logistics, reports, and reanalysis may not yet be available, and details (including timing and deliverables) may change. We will describe sample collection, lab handling, and deliverables before those steps occur.
4. Orders, pricing, and payment
- Prices are shown on the site (for example, the 20x long-read package). Applicable taxes may be added.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). By purchasing, you also agree to the payment provider's terms. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
- We may decline or cancel an order (for example, for suspected fraud or if we cannot fulfill it) and will refund amounts paid for orders we cancel before fulfillment.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Because sequencing involves laboratory work and consumables, refund eligibility depends on how far an order has progressed. Before any sample is processed, you may request cancellation for a refund of unfulfilled amounts. Once laboratory work has begun, orders may be non-refundable. The final, dated Terms will state the specific refund windows; until then, contact [email protected].
6. Your data and ownership
You own your raw genomic source files and your account information. You grant Greenomes a limited license to process and store your data solely to provide the Service and the features you request. We do not sell your data. Our handling of personal and genomic data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can download and delete your data as described there.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempts to breach security or access others' data, no uploading data you do not have the right to provide, and no submitting another person's sample without their informed consent.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that results, interpretations, or third-party laboratory outputs are error-free or fit for any particular medical or clinical purpose. Genomic interpretation evolves; information that is accurate today may change as science improves.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Greenomes will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Greenomes against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of [state, to be set with counsel], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The dispute-resolution process (including any arbitration or venue terms) will be finalized with counsel in the dated version.
